It all started one fateful night towards the end of February. I went with a handful of friends to the Joshua Radin concert (I'm sure you'll hear much more about him in aprox. 19 more days). Co-headlining with Josh (we're close, I can call him that) was Ingrid Michaelson. You know, the girl who sings the sweater song featured in the Old Navy commercial from last winter. Anyway, I really liked her stuff and went home and bought a couple songs on i tunes. Then I saw her with Josh in Boise two days later. I loved her and went home to purchase the rest of the album. I have also seen her play an in-store concert at Best Buy, with the Hotel Cafe Tour, then a month ago she came back through Salt Lake on her headlining tour. If you count that up, I've seen Ingrid play live five times this year, thus, I have officially deemed this the year of Ingrid Michaelson! She's pretty much incredible and I highly recommend her to everyone! And while there are a lot of simmilar sounding female artist out there right now, I believe Ingrid is among the best of the bunch. Trust me.
Anyway. Her shows are always so much fun and she writes new stuff as she tours. One of her new songs is called Be Ok; it'll be on an upcoming ep she's putting out an she's in the process of making a music video for it as well. She posted a bulletin on myspace asking fans to take a picture of themselves with Be Ok somewhere on their face. Of course I grabbed my eyeliner and camera and went to town. How cool would it be to be in a music video?! I'm sure they'll get way better pics, but I gave it a shot . . .
And a link so you can hear how fabulous the song is for yourself. :)

Can't Go Back Now . . .
Okay, so I'm doing something I said I'd never do. Start a blog. I'm sure I'm not the first person to say this, nor the last! But, as I find myself moving across the county to go on one of the most exciting adventures of my life I decided I need a good way to keep friends and family up to date. Hence this blog. I promise to make reading it worth your while!
For those of you who don't know, let me fill you in on the excitement in my life. I just bought myself a one-way ticket to Washington DC. It leaves August 17th at 7:10 am. I am so, so, SO excited! And if I'm being completely honest, scared at the same time. This is something I've wanted to do for over three years and it's finally happening. Apparently timing really is everything. My life has just fallen into place. I found an incredible nanny job, working for this amazing family with two adorable kids. The plan is to do this for at least a year and then see where I'm at with what I want to do in life.
This is definitely a bittersweet thing for me. While I can't wait to move, I'm sooo sad to leave my family and friends. I have had such an amazing time the past two years and I guarentee if I stayed I'd continute to have a good time, but I know this is the right move for me. It helps that I'll have my brother and sister-in-law as well as other family memebers less than a day away. And thankfully two of my best friends are in the DC area! I don't know that I could actually make the move if I didn't know anyone . . .
And here's one of the best things about going to DC: everyone can come visit!!! Think about it. ;)
